Content Planning to Market your Real Estate Business

As a real estate agent, you are constantly on the go with little downtime. Creating a content plan and calendar gives you quick and easy ideas on engaging content to share with your audience. This also helps you to be more organized and prepared when it comes time to engage with your audience across social media platforms.

When planning your monthly social media content, personalize it so it reflects you, your brand, and your niche. Then organize it so you are staying on brand and consistent.

What are the different kinds of content I can create for my audience?

Make a list of local events, holidays, and what’s coming up in your business. Do you have a new listing coming on the market? Are you participating in a local charity event? Are you taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip? These are all GREAT things to share. It’s important to remember that social media is about being social, not about always selling. The quickest way to push people away is to post about nothing but your business and listings. One of many things Photofy excels at is providing an agent with templates for holidays, listings, life events and so much more. These easy-to-use and branded templates allow the agent to create graphics on the go and in no time while waiting on clients and vendors to arrive for appointments.

→ “Find a niche or something that people recognize you for. “I knew an agent who did monthly burger reviews at restaurants in and around his city. He then expanded on that and talked about the housing market. At first, people found it silly and at times odd, but as he kept at it, he was known as the agent who did burger reviews.”

How do I find content and organize it?

You can find hundreds of great examples of content calendars with one quick Google search. The key is to find one and stick with it. To the right is an example of a monthly calendar created by our awesome team here at Photofy.

However you go about finding and creating a content plan, CONSISTENCY is most important! “When I worked as a Director of Agent Services, I would tell my agents to post to their social channels at least 3-4 times a week.” Set a goal that the first Monday of each month you create your content and schedule it to post. Also, know the best times to post on each social channel. Here is a link to a great article with graphics showing the best times to post: The Best Times to Post on Social Media in 2021

I have my content, now how do I brand it and promote it?

Branding your content is important because it tells your followers who you are and what you do. Imagine your friend from college wants to buy a house but does not know an agent, only he does but you have no branding on any of your social channels. That is a potential sale you have lost out on. With Photofy you can easily use the Logo+ feature and the Color Spectrum tool so you are always on brand and recognizable. Once you have your content created you want to make sure you are repurposing content across all of your social channels.

How best do I engage with my audience?

Last but not least, one important thing to remember when posting content or managing your channels is to engage your audience. Ask questions, encourage them to share questions, and be sure to respond. Relationship building is a two-way street. The more you show you care and acknowledge your customers, the more likely they are to remember you the next time it comes to buying or selling a home!
